Does LMNT use table salt, sea salt, or Himalayan salt in its formula?Updated 2 days ago
LMNT does not use Himalayan salt, sea salt, or table salt. These are all sources of sodium chloride (salt) and each comes with certain tradeoffs. LMNT’s salt is extracted and produced in Hutchinson, Kansas through an evaporated manufacturing process, without further refining, demineralizing, or treating the salt source.
Hutchinson, Kansas — or Salt City, as it’s known — is home to salt deposits that were formed about 300 million years ago from a “great inland sea” that has since been covered up with earth. These deposits sit between 500 and 1,000 feet below the Earth’s surface and are regarded as one of the purest salt deposits in the world.
